Abstract

Introduction: The development of actions pertinent to the National Policy of Permanent Education in Health (PNEPS) is a great challenge in health institutions, since the use of tools that make it possible to know the problems and propose solutions are not widely used by health professionals. Objective: To this end, the research aimed at the problems identified in the execution of continuing education actions using the GUT Matrix, in an oncology hospital in the State of Goiás. Method: Interventionist field research was carried out, with the participation of hospital managers. Data were obtained through the focus group's statements and application of the GUT Matrix. From the statements of the focus group participants, thirteen problems were identified. The participants in the focus group filled out the GUT Matrix, scoring each of the problems identified according to Severity x Urgency x Trend. Results: Through the matrix, the following challenges were prioritized: instructor with low qualification (61.30%), lack of motivation of the teams (20.28%), absence of a learning chronology from the moment of hiring (18.42%). Based on the categories, it was pointed out that training in health education, team development and improvement of internal processes, including training of the hospital team, is necessary. Conclusion: It was concluded that the GUT Matrix was able to guide and point out the main challenges encountered in the hospital's daily routine, and through the involvement of the actors in the entire process of research construction, a collective commitment was created, which will be transformed into action for the development of the qualification of permanent Health Education in the hospital.
