Abstract

Introduction: The Goiás Telemedicine and Telehealth Center (NUTTs), which has been in operation since 2007, plays a crucial role in conducting, implementing and expanding the Telehealth Brazil Networks project. This initiative, the result of a partnership between the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) and the Goiás State Health Department (SES-GO), is funded by the Ministry of Health and offers essential teleconsulting, telediagnosis and teleeducation services. NUTTs thus represents a strategic response to improve the delivery of health care in challenging situations, as it strengthens connectivity and accessibility to medical services, facilitates the expansion of care and coverage, especially in contexts where distance is a significant obstacle. Objective: To carry out a situational diagnosis in order to describe and analyze the services offered by NUTTs in the state of Goiás. Materials and Methods: This is a case study with a descriptive, exploratory, qualitative and quantitative approach carried out in collaboration with the Goiás Telehealth and Telemedicine Center (NUTTs), using data collected between October 2015 and December 2022. The research was conducted using the NUTTs database, with an emphasis on preserving the anonymity of the data. After collection, the data was classified, systematically organized and tabulated using Microsoft Excel® 2013 software. The variables analyzed included the number of municipalities that applied to join the program, the number of teleconsultations carried out, the number of telediagnoses (such as tele-ECG and retinography exams) and the year of the variables analyzed. This approach provided a comprehensive view of the impact and evolution of the services offered by NUTTs over the period analyzed. Results: The program has broad coverage of 91.5% of the municipalities in the state of Goiás, from 2015 to 2022 it carried out 30,167 teleconsultations, 66,265 lauded tele-electrocardiogram exams and 12,625 teleretinography exams. Conclusions: This study reinforces the importance of NUTTs in the health context in Goiás, highlighting their role in promoting a more accessible, efficient and innovative approach to providing medical care.
