Abstract
Introduction: Diabetes is a metabolic disease with a prevalence of 3% of the world population and, among several complications, is amputation. Objective: To evaluate functionality and quality of life outcomes in amputees due to diabetes mellitus. Methodology: The study is a systematic literature review of cross-sectional studies published 10 years ago on the functionality and/or quality of life of amputees due to diabetes mellitus. Results and Discussion: 13 studies were found after inclusion and exclusion criteria that showed the influence of several factors acting on patients' functionality and quality of life in a broad way. Conclusion: Therefore, it is concluded that to analyze the functionality and quality of life of amputee patients, the professional must think about them in a more specific and individual way.
