Abstract
Objective: to report the professional practices of nurses who work in Primary Health Care in municipalities in the state of Amazonas. Method: descriptive exploratory research with qualitative approaches, using semi-structured interviews, remotely, with nurses working in basic health units in the municipalities of Silves, Careiro Castanho and Presidente Figueiredo, of adjacent rural typology. Results: professional practices take place in urban, rural, riverside and river contexts, through procedures, spontaneous demand and programmatic actions established by the Ministry of Health. The facilities mentioned were teamwork, knowledge of the territory, establishment of links, flooding of rivers and use of electronic medical records. The difficulties mentioned were: understanding of the population about the functioning of Primary Care, geographical difficulties, vast size of the territory, delay in sending exam results and difficulties in the reference and conference system. The practices contemplate the nurses' work process in the dimensions of assisting, managing, teaching and researching. Conclusion: Nurses' practices in Primary Care in the cities studied are in conditions unlike those of the rest of the country, demanding greater attention from government bodies in order to actually promote one of the basic principles of the Unified Health System: the principle of equity.
