ABSTRACT
The DRESS syndrome is an adverse drug reaction that is little known in clinical practice, but with a high potential for lethality, due to the combination of cutaneous manifestations and involvement of multiple organs. In the present report, the case of a patient who developed such pathology after the use of allopurinol is portrayed, as well as the diagnosis and clinical management, emphasizing the importance of an early recognition of this condition, in order to avoid serious outcomes.
