ACTIVE METHODOLOGIES IN PERMANENT HEALTH EDUCATION: CHALLENGES AND POTENTIALS OF AN INTERVENTION WITH HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

Abstract

Introduction: Permanent Health Education (PHE) is essential for Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) professionals, yet its implementation often faces traditional teaching models. The use of active methodologies, such as psychoeducation, emerges as an effective alternative. Objective: Report a professional experience using active methodologies in an intervention with health professionals. Methodology: An experience report study. The intervention took place at a public institution specializing in infectology, located in Goiânia, Goiás. Results and Discussion: The intervention promoted a horizontal and collaborative environment, fostering interprofessional exchange, the therapeutic nature of listening, and the joint development of solutions. By using simple and low-cost resources, it demonstrated potential for replication. Institutional and motivation-related barriers were observed. Conclusion: The model proved to be viable for professional qualification, but its sustainability depends on management engagement to mitigate structural and operational obstacles. Further studies in different contexts are recommended.
