Abstract

Introduction: Acute Myeloid Leukemia is a hematological malignancy characterized by high mortality and historically associated with low survival rates. With technological and therapeutic advancements in recent decades, there has been a significant improvement in the survival of this population. Despite this, cancer treatment still causes considerable deterioration in physical health and a sharp decline in quality of life. In this context, it is necessary to assess the effects of different approaches to muscle training, as physical exercise is an important tool in recovering physical weaknesses and promoting a better quality of life. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of supervised physical exercise in patients diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review conducted according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology. The methodological quality of the studies was evaluated using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) tool. Results: Overall, supervised physical exercises significantly reduced fatigue scores, improved functional capacity, and led to a significant reduction in anxiety and depression levels in patients with acute myeloid leukemia. Conclusion: Combined supervised exercise programs are effective in improving symptoms caused by the disease and its treatment, as well as enhancing quality of life.
