The Revista Científica da Escola Estadual de Saúde Pública de Goiás "Cândido Santiago" (RESAP) is an open-access and free journal, published exclusively in electronic format, with ISSN 2447-3405. It is available at http://www.revista.esap.go.gov.br.
Aim and Scope
RESAP's mission is to disseminate original, peer-reviewed scientific knowledge aimed at professionals and researchers in the field of Health Sciences, with a special focus on Public Health, Collective Health, Health Education, and Health Management. Its purpose is to contribute to the advancement and strengthening of these fields through highly relevant and applicable research and studies.
Open Access Policy
Since its creation in 2015, the journal has been committed to the principles of Open Access, ensuring that its content is freely available online. Additionally, RESAP allows the reuse and adaptation of articles with minimal restrictions, promoting truly free access to knowledge. In 2024, the journal reinforced this commitment by adopting the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license, ensuring greater clarity and flexibility in the use and sharing of its content, as long as authors are properly credited.
Submission Criteria
Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the official website. Submissions must be original and unpublished. Studies involving human or animal subjects require ethical approval. RESAP prioritizes original research manuscripts but also accepts systematic, integrative, scoping, and narrative reviews (with lower priority), as well as case reports, experience reports, brief communications, and methodological protocols. Submissions may be in Portuguese, English, or Spanish, but must include a Portuguese version.
Publication Frequency
RESAP follows a continuous publication model, organizing articles into annual volumes.
Fees
RESAP is a cost-free journal for authors, charging no fees for submission, evaluation, review, publication, distribution, or article downloads.
Copyright and Content Use Policy
By submitting a manuscript for publication, authors agree to transfer copyright to the journal exclusively for the purposes of publication, academic dissemination, and archiving. The journal does not make commercial use of published content, and authors retain the right to reuse the article for educational, academic, or non-commercial purposes, provided the source is properly cited. This policy ensures ethical and responsible access to scientific knowledge.
Peer Review Process
The journal follows a double-blind peer review system, ensuring anonymity between authors and reviewers to guarantee impartiality. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the manuscript's subject area and must adhere to ethical principles, maintain confidentiality, and avoid conflicts of interest. The entire process is mediated by the editorial team, promoting ethics, transparency, and alignment with scientific standards.
Ethics and Best Publishing Practices
Research must be conducted with accuracy and integrity, avoiding misconduct in analyses. Authorship must acknowledge the contributions of all involved, respecting co-authorship guidelines, such as those between advisors and students. To ensure fair evaluations, reviewers are selected with no ties to the submitted articles and must maintain confidentiality, providing constructive and well-founded reviews.
Indexing and Classification
RESAP is indexed in LATINDEX (Catalog 1.0) and the Portal de Revistas Científicas em Ciências da Saúde da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS/BIREME), increasing its visibility and accessibility in the scientific community. In the Qualis CAPES system, RESAP was classified as Qualis B1 for the 2017–2020 evaluation period.
